Risk Assessment
We use advanced statistical analysis and numerical simulations to assess the risk of major events, such as pandemics, natural, and human-induced disasters, and we forecast their health and economic burden. We assess the impact of environmental factors (e.g. indoor and outdoor pollution, climate, and noise) on the risk of illness and death. We specialize in the study of rare and extreme events. Our methodological approach allows reliable estimations of risk also when events, and data, are characterized by non-negligible auto- and cross-correlations, and distributions present significant skeweness and kurtosis. Our analyses are designed to inform policy, as well as business (e.g. insurance) planning. Details on methods and software can be found on the Research page.
